Xcaret is a great eco-park on the coast. Make it an all day affair to get the best value. The park is loaded with amusements: snorkel the underground river, an aquarium, butterfly exhibit, sea turtles, ruins, Mayan village, beach, dolphin swim & more. Then experience Xcaret at Night. A firelight Mayan ceremonial dance, Indiana Jones style dry cave, and fantastic amphitheater for regional music & dancing from around Mexico. Located just south of Playa del Carmen. |

Aktun Chen Dry Cave and Jungle Tour- you won't want to miss this cave, the sign is just south of Akumal along the highway. A walk through Aktun Chen is as close to "dry cave diving" as you'll get. A great example of the extensive caves in the area. The variety and number of stalactites is staggering! Great monkeys too! Locate just south of Akumal. |
ATV Explorer Jungle Tours is the original Playa del Carmen jungle tour. Ride an ATV through jungle paths, swim in a clear 60 foot deep cenote, explore caves, climb ancient Mayan ruins on this 2 hour tour. Puerto Aventuras, set on a spectacular stretch of white sand beach, is a 900 acre resort community located 98 kilometers south of Cancun. The resort is built along the beach and around a large marina complex.
The Dolphin Discovery facility sits in the heart of the complex and is built on a lush, tropical island in the middle of a lagoon that is home to our dolphins.

Tulum Ruins. 5 Miles South - One of the most beautiful Maya Ruins to visit. The coast of Quintana Roo is bathed by shallow, crystal-clear, green-blue waters, lined by beaches of fine white sand, punctuated by numerous coves, bays and islands, with a backdrop of lush tropical vegetation. It is here that Tulum stands, on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean. The most important Maya archaeological sites on the coast, it is 127 kilometers south of Cancun and 47 kilometers southeast of Coba. (http://www.inah.gob.mx). |

Get There Early! Chichen Itza gets crowded THIS IS NO JOKE! Yes it is one of the more impressive pyramids in the world With the popularity of Cancun and vicinity for both tourists, and cruise ships, well, there are only so many places to go, and Chichen Itza is on the top of the list. So would you believe it if we said you could be on that pyramid, all by yourself? If you tour any other Ruins the same day (Tulum, Chichen Itza) Save your ticket stub for free entry. |
Cenote Dzitnup, one of several caverns / swimming holes in the Yucatan peninsula west of Valladolid, Mexico. In Valladolid take the OLD highway 180 (not the tollway) west to Chichen Itza. This is a two lane road and Dizitnup Cenote is half way between Valladolid and Chichen Itza. (360 view HERE ) |
Although Coba, located 45 km (28 miles) northwest of Tulum, is less well-known than either Tulum or Chichen Itza, it is one of the oldest Mayan cities and predates other better known cities in the area. Xaibe at Coba, Riviera Maya, Mexico Coba is located near five of the largest lakes in the Yucatan Peninsula. Coba covers an area of about 70 square km - VERY spread out - Suggest renting the bikes to tour the ruins. If you tour any other Ruins the same day (Tulum, Chichen Itza) Save your ticket stub for free entry. |
City of Valladolid. Great city located west. Must see church on your way to or from Chichen Itza. |
